  Airline in Taiwan

China Airlines : China Airlines (Chinese: 中華航空公司 (pinyin: Zhōnghuá Hángkōng gōngsī), commonly abbreviated 華航) is the flag carrier of the Republic of China on Taiwan. The airline is not state-owned but belongs to China Aviation Development Foundation (中華航空事業發展基金會). However, the foundation belongs to the government of the Republic of China. The chairman does not have to report to the Legislative Yuan, unlike other state-owned companies in Taiwan.
The airline, based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and with headquarters in Taipei, currently flies to many destinations in Asia, Europe, North America and the South Pacific. Because of political obstacles over the establishment of the Three Links, it does not have regularly scheduled flights into mainland China; passengers to mainland China must go through a third port. The most popular third port is Hong Kong, followed by Macau while passengers may also fly to Japan or Korea before transferring to a China-bound flight. Its main competitor is EVA Air.

Daily Air : Daily Air (德安航空) is an airline based in Taipei, Taiwan. It operates scheduled passenger services to offshore islands from Taiwan, as well as helicopter contract services and charters. Its main base is Taipei Songshan Airport, with hubs at Kaohsiung International Airport and Taitung Airport.

EVA Air : EVA Air (Chinese:長榮航空 Chángróng Hángkōng) is a Taiwanese airline based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, Taiwan, operating passenger and dedicated cargo services to international destinations in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North America. An affiliate of shipping conglomerate Evergreen Group, EVA Air is the largest privately owned Taiwanese airline.[2] Its headquarters are located in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
Since its founding in 1989, EVA Air has expanded to include air cargo, airline catering, ground handling, aviation engineering, and tour package services. Its cargo arm, EVA Air Cargo, links with the Evergreen worldwide shipping network on sea and land. Its domestic and regional subsidiary, UNI Airways, operates an extensive intra-Taiwanese shorthaul network. Its main international rival is China Airlines.
EVA Air is recognized as a pioneer of the premium economy class, which it debuted in 1991.[2] EVA was also the first Taiwanese airline to be accredited by the IATA with the IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) for its safety practices and is ranked as one of the world's top-10 safest airlines by AERO International, a prestigious and respected German aviation magazine.[3] The official pronunciation of the airline's name is E-V-A Air(ways). The airline's slogan is "Just relax, your home in the air."

Far Eastern Air Transport : Far Eastern Air Transport is an airline based in Taipei, Taiwan. It operates domestic services from Taipei and Kaohsiung to five regional cities and international services to China, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Its main base is Taipei Songshan Airport.

Mandarin Airlines : Mandarin Airlines (華信航空; pinyin: Huáxìn Hángkōng) is an airline based in Taipei, Taiwan. It is China Airlines' regional and domestic subsidiary as well as operates charter services. Its main base is Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

TransAsia Airways : TransAsia Airways (復興航空) is an airline based in Taiwan. It mainly serves the domestic market but also has limited scheduled international services to Macau and South Korea and charter services to some holiday destinations.

Uni Air : Uni Air (Chinese: 立榮航空 Lìróng Hángkōng) is an airline based in Taiwan. It is a domestic and regional subsidiary of EVA Air. It was known as Makung International Airlines until 1996, when EVA Air took a majority share of the airline. In 1998, the airline merged with Great China Airlines and Taiwan Airways, which EVA Air also had interests in, to form UNI Airways (Uni Air).
The airline has had the largest market share in the domestic Taiwan market in recent years, and has expanded into international flight. A few of its McDonnell Douglas MD-90 aircraft have been repainted and are flying for parent carrier EVA Air due to overcapacity; its rival also faces the same problem. In recent years, Uni Air has launched service to international destinations from the southern Taiwanese port city of Kaohsiung. In 2007, the airline received permission to begin flights to Japan.
