Phoenician Express : Phoenician Express is a start-up regional airline based in Syria. It is a joint venture between Syrian Arab Airlines and Middle East Airlines.
The airline was established in December 2005 and planned to start serving destinations in Syria, as well as international routes to Jordan, Turkey and Egypt in mid-2006. The project may have been abandoned due to the unstable political situation in the area.[1] It was initially to operate a pair of 50 to 70-seat aircraft from Damascus and Beirut. Syrian Air and Middle East Airlines would jointly own 50% of Phoenician Express, and the other half would be owned by private investors |
