Air China : Air China (SEHK: 0753) (LSE: AIRC) (Simplified Chinese: 中国国际航空公司, Pinyin: Zhōngguó Guójì Hángkōng Gōngsī, literally "Chinese International Aviation Company", abbreviated 国航) is the People's Republic of China's state owned and second-largest commercial airline after China Southern Airlines. It is the flag carrier and the only airline to fly the PRC national flag on its entire fleet. Its logo consists of a phoenix in the form of the abbreviation VIP, and "Air China" in both English and Chinese, which was autographed by Deng Xiaoping.
Air China's main hubs are Beijing Capital International Airport and Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, with other focus cities at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport and Hohhot Baita International Airport.
The airline flew 33.97 million passengers in 2006, with a passenger load factor of 75.9%. In the same year, it made a profit of 2.7 billion yuan, with an operating revenue of 44.9 billion yuan and total expenses standing at 42.4 billion yuan[2]. Air China is also accredited by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) for its safety practices.
Air China Cargo : Air China Cargo is a cargo airline based in Beijing, China. It is an all-cargo subsidiary of Air China and operates services to 36 cities in 27 countries around the world. Its main base is Beijing Capital International Airport.
Chang'an Airlines : Changan Airlines is an airline based in Xi'an, Shaanxi, the People's Republic of China. It operates scheduled, passenger and cargo services within Shaanxi province and to neighbouring provinces. Its main base is Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, with a hub at Yinchuan Hedong Airport.
China Cargo Airlines : China Cargo Airlines is a cargo airline based in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. It is China's first all-cargo airline operating dedicated freight services using China Eastern Airlines route structure. Its main base is Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, with a hub at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
China Eastern Airlines : China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (Simplified Chinese: 中国东方航空股份有限公司) (SSE: 600115 SEHK: 0670 NYSE: CEA) is an airline based in Shanghai, China. It is a major Chinese airline operating international, domestic and regional routes. Its main base is Shanghai Pudong International Airport, with a hub at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
China Express Airlines : China Express Airlines is an airline based in Guiyang, Guizhou, People's Republic of China. It plans to launch services using Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft.
China Flying Dragon Aviation : China Flying Dragon Aviation is an airline based in Harbin, Heilongjiang, People's Republic of China. It operates short-haul passenger and cargo charter flights, as well as maritime surveillance, aerial photography and forestry protection services. Its main base is Harbin Taiping International Airport.
China Postal Airlines : China Postal Airlines is a cargo airline based in Beijing, People's Republic of China. It operates express mail and cargo transport services mainly for China Post to over 300 domestic destinations, as well as international scheduled and charter services. Its main base is Tianjin Binhai International Airport.
China Southern Airlines : China Southern Airlines (中国南方航空公司) (SEHK: 1055, NYSE: ZNH) is an airline based in Guangzhou in the Guangdong province of the People's Republic of China. Operating domestic, regional and international services[1], it is Asia's largest airline in terms of fleet size and the largest in China in terms of passengers carried.
Its main operation hubs are Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport, with other focus cities at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, Urumqi Diwopu International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport.
China United Airlines : China United Airlines is an airline based in Beijing, People's Republic of China. It operates a scheduled charter services in co-operation with local enterprises. Its main base is Beijing Nanyuan Airport. China United is the only airline that uses this airport, a former military airfield 18 km to the south of Beijing.
The airline should not be confused with the US carrier, United Airlines, which flies to the main Beijing Airport.
China West Air : China West Air is a start-up airline based in Chongqing, People's Republic of China. It was established in March 2006 by a group of undisclosed Chinese investors and is waiting for approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China. It plans to start services in 2007.
China Xinhua Airlines : China Xinhua Airlines (Chinese: 中国新华航空) is an airline based in Beijing, People's Republic of China. It operates scheduled trunk services and charter flights. Its main bases are Beijing Capital International Airport and Tianjin Binhai International Airport.
Datang Qili Airlines : Datang Qili Airlines is a start-up cargo airline based in Beijing, People's Republic of China. It is being established by a group of Chinese companies, has received preliminary approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and intends to operate domestic and international services.
Dazhong Airlines : Dazhong Airlines is a start-up airline based in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, People's Republic of China. It is a privately owned airline planning to operate domestic passenger and cargo services.

East Pacific Airlines : Shenzhen Donghai Airlines is a cargo airline based in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China. It plans to develop a domestic network serving major Chinese cities. Its main base is Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
East Star Airlines : East Star Airlines is an airline based in Wuhan, Hubei, People's Republic of China. It is a privately owned airline and operates scheduled domestic services on 10 routes from Wuhan, and expects to add more routes as its fleet grows. Its main base is Wuhan Tianhe International Airport[1]. In July 2007, it was granted rights to operate international service after only a year of service, the first privately owned Chinese airline to be granted permission to operate international flights before CAAC's requirement of three-years service.
Grand China Express Air : Grand China Express Air is a start-up regional airline based in Tianjin, People's Republic of China. It operates domestic passenger and cargo services with effect from May 2007.
Great Wall Airlines : Great Wall Airlines Company Limited is a cargo airline based in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. It operates cargo services to Europe and Asia. Its main base is Beijing Capital International Airport, with a hub at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
Guizhou Airlines : Guizhou Airlines is an airline based in Guiyang, Guizhou, People's Republic of China. It is a small provincial subsidiary of China Southern Airlines operating scheduled domestic passenger and cargo services in southern China.[1] Its main base is Guiyang Longdongbao Airport, Guizhou.
